A vibrant flower, especially in late summer and early autumn, Gaillardia, or “Blanket Flower,” is in the sunflower family.  It’s easy to grow and has red-yellow-orange blooms the size of daisies or black-eyed Susans.  Once established, it can become drought- and heat-tolerant.

Growing Suggestions:
Using a garden rake, move the dirt around then sprinkle the seeds/petals in that area.  Rake again to cover with shallow dirt.  Planting in May will provide you with blooms from July-October.
