Besides offering spiritual direction, I also enjoy designing and facilitating retreats, preaching for faith communities, leading contemplative prayer services, and speaking at events.

RETREATS

I refer to all the group sessions I teach as “retreats.”  I prefer that word to “workshop” because we not working, we’re engaging in self-care.  Whether it is two hours or two days, I want participants to feel like this event is a time of sacred space, gentle growth, and restful relaxation.

Sample topics:

  • Woundedness and Healing (and in particular, for those who feel as if they’ve been wounded by a faith community or church)
  • Prayer Practices for the Soul
  • Art and Contemplation, Art and Nature, Art and Prayer
  • Creation through the Seasons
  • Just Be
SERMONS AND SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

I enjoy substituting for ministers in churches as well as presenting key note addresses at conferences.  My style is very comfortable and engaging as I rely on simple storytelling, prayer practices, and visuals (if applicable) to connect with people.

CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER SERVICES AND PRAYER STATIONS

Sometimes, churches invite me to design and facilitate a special worship event during liturgical seasons like Advent and Lent.  I work with staff and lay leaders to create unique sacred spaces that enrich prayer and worship.
