honoring Rosa Parks on the anniversary of her 100th birthday

Today, I am thinking about a woman with quiet fortitude who made up her mind and did away with fear.   Ms. Parks’ nonviolent action included no words, just a commitment to peaceful change.  May we all be touched by her life and the example she set–one person can make a difference, one person can make this world a better place.

Words from Rosa Parks:

I would like to be known as a person who is concerned about freedom and equality and justice and prosperity for all people.Rosa_Parks_1956

I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear.

I believe we are here on the planet Earth to live, grow up and do what we can to make this world a better place for all people to enjoy freedom.

Each person must live their life as a model for others.

Memories of our lives, of our works and our deeds will continue in others.
