This morning as I stretch and breathe and practice yoga, I begin in child’s pose, resting my body on the ground and connecting to that which is below me. As I move slowly upward and outward, my body unfolds like a new seed sprouting above the soil. My arms reach out wide, my head unrolls at my neck, and my chest opens outward so that my heart and spirit can receive.
I am a seed, unfolding.

I think about new baby sprouts and how they must unfold to grow, how they must surrender safety to receive light. I am reminded that surrender not only means letting go but also letting in.
I am a seed, unfolding.
