When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive–to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.
I live in the mountains of North Carolina which affords me the opportunity to witness glowing sunrises and fiery sunsets, brilliant autumn leaves and cool summer hues. One of my favorite views, however, is to watch Morning roll in. After rain or in early fall, fog settles in our valley, and as the sun rises to greet the day, Morning begins to wake–lifting her head and gently tossing the covers to the side. She enters the day easily. There is no rushing or multitasking for Morning on these days. She simply rises at her own pace as if to meditate on what the day may bring.
May we all be a bit more like Morning, rolling in to greet the day and appreciating the slow awakening of body, mind, and spirit.
