I had two slogans to guide me. One was: “Figure it out” is not a good slogan. And the other was: Ask and allow: ask God, and allow grace in. ~Anne Lamott
After a long day yesterday, I went to bed with a heavy heart. Hoping to end the day on a note of peace, I opened my Nook and clicked on Salon. Hurrah! An article by Anne Lamott appeared–God always knows how to cheer me up.
As I began to drift off, my eyes stumbling over words, I came upon a small but powerful statement: allow grace in. Allow grace in. This morning, I arise holding that sentiment gently in my hands. I’m taking it to work with me then to my Just Be class. I’ll leave it in my pocket just in case I need it when my daughter and I return home this evening. And as I end another day, I’ll be grateful for the small gift those three words offer.
Allow grace in. Thanks, Anne.
